Judging by what Allah has revealed.

Alhamdulillah,

Bismillahirahmanirraheem,

All praise is for Allah, may peace and blessings be upon the prophet, his family and companions, Amin.

Allah says:

“Whoever does not judge by what Allah revealed is a disbeliever.“ - Qur’an 5:44

“But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make you (Muhammed) judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against your decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction.” - Qur’an 4:65

Allah says we must judge by what He and Rasulullah saw informed us of if we are to be true believers.

It is a reality that we cannot always implement Allahs rules and get justice in big matters and sometimes even smaller matters of injustice, and if we cannot implement the Rulings of Allah and his Messenger or the leader cannot in matters requiring a judge, there is a solution, it is narrated in a Hadith of Rasulullah SAW,

The prophet PBUH said “whoever can change an evil with his hand then let him do so, and whoever cannot change it with his hand then let him change it with his tongue, and whoever cannot do that then let him hate it in his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.”

Ali RA himself couldnt immedietly punish the killers of Uthman RA as he didnt have the strength to implement the punishment and this delay in implementation is from his wisdom, even if it was to the discontent of others, this doesnt mean he did not judge by what Allah had revealed because he delayed punishing the perpetrators, as he knew what the ruling should be in his mind according to İslam, so in this there is a lesson for us.

İt is critical our outlook on matters are from a believers perspective, then, if we are able to implement our knowledge and attain justice either as a ruler in bigger matters or as a civilian in his everyday life. We must in our minds and hearts first, judge with the knowledge of İslam, and then if possible seek to implement İslam in the right manner.

It is critical to remember, the Prophet SAW said "whoever does not prohibit evil (when he sees it) will be punished with the doers of it" and "the best jihad is a true word against an a tyrannical ruler."

May Allah protect us,

Amin
