Belief in Islam

Updated: Jun 29

Belief in İslam.

A believer must affirm on the tongue and in the heart that “La ilaha ilallah Muhammedur Rasulullah” to be a Muslim.

If there is a reason such as a physical injury to a persons tongue or other disability that affects ones physical movement such as paralysis that qualifies as an excuse as to why a person cannot utter it then in the heart would suffice according to Imam Ma'turidi RA.

Faith once acquired this way does not increase or decrease, it is or it isn’t.

The strength of the faith becomes stronger or weaker & and more upright or limp & does not increase or decrease as a percentage number in conviction of surety for example. İt has to be 100% sure or nothing, it cannot be 99% as that would negate certainty in the heart which is necessary for one to be a believer.

Rasulullah SAW informed us those with faith of the weight of a mustard seed will be taken out of hell and entered into paradise.

İslam defines faith as having weight, so the more it weighs the stronger it would be, still in its totality of 100%. İ.e a strong or weak, growing more upright or vice versa depending on how one lives and practices his religion, he can grow it with good deeds or weaken it with sins, hafizunAllah.

There is no compulsion in the acceptance of ç Islam. And Allah does not punish a person until a warner has been sent to them.

By affirming belief in the 6 articles of faith, that is necessary for a Muslim to believe in he is a believer but if he denies any of these or a part of any of these he will exit İslam.

6 articles of Faith:

Oneness of Allah

The Prophets

The books

The angels

The day of judgement & afterlife

The Destiny - Good & Bad of it.
