Praying behind those of innovation.
The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said: "He who showed respect to an innovator (bad bidah) he in fact aided in the demolishing of Islam."
[Ref: Al Bayhaqi, Mishkatul Masabih, 1/189, English).
Note: The greatest form of respect a Muslim can give to another Muslim is to make them the leader of your prayer. If you make a bad innovator/Heretic/Pagan etc a leader of your prayer, then you have aided in harming
Islam as per hadith above.
Imam Abu Hanifa RA said:
"Prayer behind the people of Innovation (bad Bidah) is not allowed".
Imam Malik RA said:
"Dont pray behind people of Innovation (bad Bidah)".
Imam Shafi RA said:
"Dont pray behind Rafzis, deniers of Qadr, Murjie (etc)"
Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal RA said:
"Dont pray behind people of Innovation (bad bidah)".

Rasulullah SAW “Stay away from sects even if you have to eat from roots of trees till death overcomes you.“
“My Ummah will split into 73 sects, 72 of which will be in the fire all except one, those who follow what I and my companions are on.“ (The ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’a - I.e the main body of Muslims)
The Sahaba RA did not pray behind the killers of Uthman RA in medina.
Anas in Malik reported: The Messenger of
Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
said, "Whoever prays our prayer, faces
our direction of prayer, and eats our
slaughtered animals, they are Muslims
under the protection of Allah and His
Messenger. Thus, do not betray Allah in
the matter of His protection."

A Muslim is one who testifies “La ilaha ilallah Muhammadur Rasulullah“ on his tongue and in his heart”, he faces the ka'aba when he prays with ablution and eats halal meat.
A Muslim must know and practice the 5 pillars of Islam and believe in the 6 articles of Eeman.
The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Any man who says to his brother, ‘O disbeliever,’ it will apply to one of them. Either it is as he said, otherwise it will come back to him.” - Sahih Bukhari.
Allah says in Qur'an “O you who believe, when you go forth to fight in the cause of Allah, investigate; and do not say to one who greets you “You are not a believer!” aspiring for the goods of worldly life, for with Allah are many acquisitions. You were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you. So investigate thoroughly. İndeed, Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted." An-Nisa 4/94.
Allah is Ar Rashid and gives hidayet to whom he wills.
